MIDWEST HOLLAND LOP CLUB

BY-LAWS

This club shall be known and designated as the Midwest Holland Lop Club (MWHLC).

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Midwest Holland lop club shall be to promoted, encourage, and develop the Holland Lop rabbit industry and fancy in all of the is phases in the areas served by the Midwest Holland Lop club, to afford memberships to persons interested in breeding, marketing, and/or exhibiting Holland Lops and the products thereof, and do all things necessary to effect this purpose.

MEMBERSHIP

Any person engaged in raising Holland Lop rabbits, or any person interested in Holland Lop rabbits may become a member of the Midwest Holland Lop Club.

OFFICERS

The officers of the Midwest Holland Lop Club shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, three (3) Directors, and two (2) Youth Directors, to be elected by and from the membership at the Peoria RBA fall show meeting in Peoria, Illinois each year. The Officers and Directors shall serve for a term of one (1) year starting January 1st, or until their successors are duly elected and qualified, and ending December 31st. All officers of the Midwest Holland Lop Club shall be members of the ARBA. Elections can be voted on at all the fall meeting.

DUTIES OF OFFICERS

The President shall preside at all meetings and act as chairperson of the Board of Directors, appoint all committees, call special meetings of the Midwest Holland Lop Club or of the Board of Directors, perform other duties pertaining to the office, and have such other authority as may be conferred upon him/her by the Board of Directors. The President shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

The duties of the Vice-President shall be the same as those of the President in the event the President is absent or unable to carry out the duties of office for any reason. The Vice-President shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

The Secretary-Treasurer shall keep all records of the Midwest Holland Lop Club, keep the minutes of all meetings, keep a record of the members, and collect fudns as directed by the Board of Directors, collect all monies due the Midwest Holland Lop Club, keep an accurate record of such funds, make payments as directed by the Board of Directors, and make a report of his/her actions at each meeting. The Secretary-Treasurer shall be an ex-officio of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors shall have charge of the business affairs and transactions of the Midwest Holland Lop Club, make contracts in the name of the Midwest Holland Lop Club, and interpret any rules, regulations, or By-Laws in question.

MEETINGS

The Midwest Holland Lop Cub shall meet at specialty shows held by the Club.

· Reading and approval of minutes from previous meeting

· Old business

· Committee reports

· New business

· Adjuournment

SHOW SANCTIONING

Shows will be sanctioned by the Midwest Holland Lob Club in all states that border Illinois, which include Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri. The shows in the states of Minnesota and Michigan will also be eligible for show sanctioning since a portion of the membership either resides or shows therein.

AUTHORITY

The interpretation of the By-Laws, all rules and regulations, and other matters affecting the Midwest Holland Lop Blub is vested in the Board of Directors.

AMENDMENTS

These By-Laws may be amended only by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the members casting ballots. Any proposed amendment to be considered at a special meeting shall be voted on only after all members have received notice of such meeting and the purpose of the special meeting in the notice.
